What is PIN?

Personal Identification Number (PIN) allows tax payers the ability to electronically sign their e-filed return using a five-digit number for their signature. This PIN can be any 5-digit number except all zeros. The tax payer will need to know their prior Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) or their PIN from the previous year to be able to truly file a paperless return.

Can't Remember Your AGI or PIN?

If you can't remember your AGI or PIN from last year you can call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 and provide certain information to the customer service representative to receive your AGI or PIN.
